Holiday Style guide(Men’s Edition)🎄👔♥️

Heyy guys welcome back to “Fashion by Sophia”! So in this blog-post we’ll be looking at the much anticipated holiday (Christmas) style guide for men!👨‍💼💫

First off, we need to know the colours representing Christmas and they are:Red,Green and Gold but the best thing ever is that many other colours have now been incorporated into it so you don’t have to look too traditional and I’m talking colours like: silver, white, wine, grey, black especially for men!💪

Let’s get to the main points of what to wear for various holiday events:

Cocktail Christmas party: these fun yet classy events offer a perfect blend of formality and modernity. You don’t have to worry if you get an invite to this event, because you can step out looking chic in a clean suit in navies or cobalts and muted grey’s too, also nicely tailored ankara suits in those colours are cool!
You can be free with your choice of  accesories here-a pocket square, tie or statement belt will compliment you nicely!👔

Semi-casual Christmas party: this can be a bit tricky to style but don’t fret I’ve got you! This theme allows you to dress laid back yet have a business flair. You can rock a relaxed pair of trousers on an unbuttoned shirt with rolled up sleeves and light shades(white or blue) or you can rock the shirt with ankara trousers. Swap the dress shoes for high tops instead then you’ll be ready to have fun and hit the dance floor in these!

Christmas day at church: you’ll be going to church with family on this special day so you’ll have to keep it clean and formal- a clean suit(black or navies) or an nicely tailored senator outfit would make you look phenomenal! Accent your outfit with dress shoes,a belt or pocket square.

Christmas dinner at home with family: I know you’d prefer to stay in your pajamas all day but you need to at least dress up a little; comfy clothes are also advised-joggers and a t-shirt with a festive colour like (white/wine) would look really cool✨

General tips/must- haves for holiday events:
A well tailored suit.
-A nicely fitted senator wear.
-Swap a t-shirt shirt for a buttoned down shirt.
-Darker shades for formal events lighter ones for day events.
-Polish any outfit with accessories
like wristwatches,belts,ties,bags and hats.

My fashion statement😤🥰. I know most guys don’t like dressing up for Christmas but I’m encouraging y’all to just try these tips this time and you’ll not just look but feel great too!💫

So basically when figuring out what to wear to a Holiday event just keep in mind the type of occasion, time of day and the type of guests in attendance.

Cheers to the holidays🥂 and remember Jesus is the reason for the season!

Holiday style guide (Part 1)!🎄👗🎁♥️

It’s the holiday season again and this year I’m excited!😄
Why?You may ask, well it’s because it’s Fashion by Sophia’s first Christmas !! So it’s special to me and now to you too!💫

This blog post is gonna be the first part of a series titled: Holiday style guide : “What to wear for every holiday party or occasion” (Women’s edition)

So let’s get straight into it!👗💃

First off, we need to know the classic colours used during Christmas and they are:Red, Green and Gold but the best thing is that many other colours have now been incorporated into it so you don’t have to look too traditional,I’m talking colours like silver, white, wine, pink and black!🔥

Okay so today’s blog is already exciting!✨ Let’s get to the main points:

  • What to wear to a Holiday cocktail party: when you’re out with friends for the holidays you’re gonna have fun and hit the dance floor so you have to step out dazzling in a sequin dress, embellished sheath dress, or a short stoned Ankara dress which is also very comfortable with simple accessories(clutch, cute earrings, mini heels).🥂✨
  • What to wear on Christmas day at home:I know it’s kinda convenient to stay in your pajamas all day but it’s cool to wear at least a holiday shirt with trousers or a cute dress with colours in line with the festivities!😊🎊
  • What to wear on Christmas day to Church: you’ll be going with family to sing hymns and rejoice in the birth of Christ so you need to look stunning! A really nice flowing dress would be appropriate (or knee length dress) with a more conservative design like a high necked,high-low dress,or cold shoulder dress. Accessories like heels and nice jewelry are recommended too!🌠
  • What to wear for Christmas dinner with family: it’ll be just you and your family so you don’t want to do too much but you still want to look good,so an A- line or fit and flare dress will do. Keep your accessories simple and ladylike (pearls, clutch)🎀
  • What to wear to a Holiday house party: with decorations everywhere and lots of music and food holiday house parties are so fun!💃 For these reasons, this type of event is suitable for wearing a cute knee length Ankara dress with boots/heels, you can also go full monochrome on a dress or jumpsuit! Accessories should be minimal or you can glam it up with a statement necklace!🥰

So basically when figuring out what to wear to a Christmas party or occasion just keep in mind the type of occasion, time of day and the type of guests in attendance.👗🤩

My fashion rant!😤😁

So I know most Nigerians don’t really celebrate Christmas to the fullest (dress up or even go out ) but this year we need to change the narrative;2020 has been alot already so let’s Celebrate life!🥂♥️

Cheers to the holidays and remember Jesus is the reason for the season!🎄🎁💝

Quarantine in Style😷👗💕

So lately we’ve been in quarantine at home and most people are like they don’t have time to wear clothes or do their hair or makeup or even shave their beards and I totally get it so today I’m going to be posting on your quarantine wardrobe (to encourage you) and I mean what you’re expected to wear when leaving your house at this time.

Face masks: this is a necessity if you’re is going out right now in order for the virus to not get into your system through the nose or mouth.
Lately there have been different types of masks with various designs but I’ll advice you to get medical masks (which you can design later) or masks made by professional (knowledgeable) fashion designers, that are already designed with nice prints. I could also say ankara masks but they aren’t really advised by the WHO( World Health organization)

Trousers: it is very advisable ato wear long trousers at this period in order to protect one’s skin from the virus.Trousers ranging from Jeans to leggings or even joggers are cool!

Long sleeved shirts: these are also very advisable to protect the skin and you can still make a fashion statement out of them by wearing other colours apart from black!!

Scarves and face caps: these are necessary to protect one’s hair from the virus too! They could be any colour, print or design that compliments the clothes you’re wearing!

Gloves: these are pretty optional but advisable too especially if one is going to the grocery store or any where that involves touching or surfaces. Black is the best colour to have cause it matches everything but you can switch it up with a brighter colour that of course matches your outfit

How to spice these basic items up:

-Don’t just wear them all in black, get them in many colours and rock them!

-Wear nicely fitted clothes not too baggy or too tight and if you’re gonna wear baggy trousers at the bottom wear fitted shirt on the top and vice versa

-Accessories are allowed too like cute earrings,a wristwatch and a necklace(for both men and women) Please no heavy jewelery cause it’ll take longer to disinfect

My Fashion Rant!😤

So I went outside a recently and I noticed that very few people are taking the safety rules given by the government seriously!😰 People aren’t even wearing face masks outside anymore 😖 People need to realize that the Corona virus is real and people are dying daily so we all need to be careful!!But don’t worry cause this too shall pass✨

So guys let’s be encouraged to follow these guidelines to look fashionable and still safe in these times also remember to get your hair washed and made, shave your beards, do your make up and dress up cute for at least a day or two in a week!

Trust me it’ll go a long way in making you feel way better!✨

#Stay safe and fashionable!

Fashion in Sophia’s view!

Fashion is a popular style or practice especially in clothing, footwear, accessories furniture and others👗

It’s a way in which people express their personalities, feelings and their general aura!

So basically to me Fashion is art,and my favorite form! Because it’s the best way I can express myself!

Fashion doesn’t just have to do with what one wears but with beauty both outwards (plain faced or with makeup) and inner beauty because the attitude(confidence) you have with clothes and accessories you’re wearing matters too!

I personally love fashion that screams beauty in decency especially cause of my faith(Christianity✝️)

I always had this ideology that in fashion one needs to take risks that involves showing alot of skin and parts that are meant to be private (all cause of what I was taught by the media) but then I realized that taking risks actually means expressing yourself in fashion despite what other people say is the popping way!✨

There’s so much more to come on this blog for all people and I mean everyone!! 💃

I’m going to be posting on the latest fashion trends (both African and international),dumped trends that I feel should come back, fashion secrets and also what I call my fashion rants which is basically where I rant about what annoys me about some people’s fashion ideologies and ways😁(I can’t wait for this!) will also be throwing in some beauty tips too!💥

So stay tuned guys, like, subscribe and comment on this blog to get the best fashion secrets and advice from “Your favorite fashionista Sophia💕”

See you on the next post loves🥰
